Hard work is rewarding.

Hard work is rewarding. This mantra has endured for 125 years within The Coghlin Companies. It is a conviction ingrained in our culture and rooted in our history. For a company to prosper for over a century requires leadership that instills enthusiasm and innovation to drive the organization into the future.

Our founder, John P. Coghlin, was both an engineer and manufacturer. This spirit which began in 1885 is the catalyst for the engineering and manufacturing business model that exists today. His legacy was to lead by example, his advice was “Hard work and determination will bring success”. The Coghlin Companies began with the design & manufacturing of a 3 HP electric motor which had a greater output per pound than the competition. This innovation launched the company into electrical power stations, facilities electrification and the design and building of a railway powered by electric motors. The business environment during this era includes Nicola Tesla who was in the prime of his accomplishments in similar projects during the same years.

We are proud of our heritage and continue to offer engineering and manufacturing services which provide cost effective solutions for our customers. Our expansion into medical products and new technology manufacturing systems for solar and LED industries echoes the same principles that started in the 1800’s. Now in our fourth generation of family management, we can witness the DNA that started a very successful enterprise.

Congratulations to The Coghlin Companies for their achievement in reaching their 125 year milestone. What an accomplishment!

As a former employee I am proud to say that I worked for such a well-established company that truly cares for their employees.

Unfortunately I had to leave the company due to health issues but the Executive Staff continued to help me after I left by pointing me in the correct medical direction due to their affliliation with The Dana Farber Cancer Institute. They also made time in their busy schedules to keep in touch and lend their support.

The HR Staff helped tremendously by getting me set up with both Long Term Disability and COBRA. When you are sick it’s a very difficult task to complete all the necessary forms and provide the correct answers to numerous questions that are asked but John & Betsy helped getting me set up with no problems.

I have also enjoyed hearing from many of the employees and I apologize if I did not reply, but it may have been at a time when I wasn’t physically in a position to do so.

I think of you all often and wish that I could return to work to be a part of all the new and exciting things that seem to be taking place within the walls of The Coghlin Companies. I also wish that I could have been in attendance at the 125 yr celebration, of which I was invited to, but unfortunately I had a scheduling conflict when the date was changed due to the weather.

I have had some positive news after some recent tests and am happy to say that several spots that were showing up on my liver are going away and I have had no evidence of new ones showing up! I am determined to fight this battle until it is done and just ask that you keep me in your prayers.

Hopefully I can plan on a visit in to see everyone soon and until then I wish you all well!

Best Wishes! & Keep Up The Good Work!
    Kathy
