5C Program and Honor Flight New England

The Coghlin Companies Caring Corporate Citizen (5C) program allows Caring Associates to recognize and support a charitable organization that is important to them. Every quarter Coghlin Companies donates $1000 to a charity nominated by a Caring Associate. In late 2018, Coghlin Companies made a donation to Honor Flight New Engla nominated by Vince Reich through the 5C program as his passionate 501(c)(3) of choice. Honor Flight New England joined with the national organization Honor Flight Network in 2009, and is dedicated to honoring America’s most senior veterans. They provide transportation to Washington, DC for WWII and Korean War veterans to visit and reflect at their memorials. Honor Flight New England has completed 55 flights and flown over 2000 veterans, completely free of charge.

The Honor Flight Experience

Vince recently traveled with a veteran to Washington, DC and shared his experience, “After seeing Honor Flight roll out the red carpet, I can honestly say the donation from Coghlin Companies will provide a lifetime of memories for 50 veterans, their families and all the volunteers, including myself.  Without a doubt, I will continue to support Honor Flight and will absolutely travel with them again. I highly encourage you to spread the word to anyone that might have a family member that served in WWII, Korea, or even Vietnam. The Honor Flight experience will change their lives guaranteed. My veteran “Jerry” was an absolute blast. He’s a Korean War veteran and kept me on my toes the entire 18 hours we were together! It’s never happened in my life, but my face honestly hurt from laughing and smiling all day! He lives close by and I know I’ll be seeing him again soon.”

Coghlin Companies is proud to support charities like Honor Flight, and we want to thank Vince for his community involvement and bringing this wonderful organization to our attention. We are thrilled that you were able to experience an Honor Flight first hand! Past 5C program winners include Boy Scouts of America, Mary T’s Chis and Small Breed Dog Rescue, ALS Association, Pat Brody Shelter for Cats, YMCA of Central Massachusetts, and others.
