On September 12, 2013, four associates from Coghlin Companies dressed in their “Live United” tee shirts and volunteered for The United Way Day of Caring event. It was the largest one day volunteer drive in the region! Our day began with lunch in the airy and beautiful courtyard of St. Vincent Hospital. While we ate, we listened to inspirational stories by Tim Garvin, CEO of United Way of Central Massachusetts, and Deborah Bitsoli, COO of St. Vincent Hospital, among others. These stories drummed up much enthusiasm for the large group – some who had already completed their volunteer activity.

Coghlin Companies in the Community - United Way Day of CaringOur group, representing three branches of the Coghlin family – Stevens Excellent of DCI, Sarah Ziegler and Anabel Mendez of Cogmedix and Fadia Abdulmassih of Columbia Tech – traveled to a senior living facility in downtown Worcester.

Our volunteer duties consisted of cleaning windows and sweeping out the stairwells of the 17-story building to keep it safe and sunny for the elders who reside there. There was so much singing and laughing among our volunteers during the cleaning that the time flew by! Thank you to the United Way for its continued support of the community!
