The Director of Commodity Management is responsible for the management of procurement and sourcing activities including; Commodity Management, Automated Purchasing Programs, VMI, Kanban etc. activities to support production and MRO, staff and supplier management to achieve departmental goals.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development and Management of Suppliers to support customer requirements and company objectives while optimizing Coghlin Companies Preferred Suppliers.
  • Develop new and refine current processes to maximize efficiency, automate and implement supply chain strategies that support the overall company business strategy, company performance objectives, and customer expectations.
  • Create and manage supplier interface programs using currently available and new technologies to drive continuous improvement and development of best practices.
  • Manage Preferred Supplier performance and buyer escalations including; scorecards, reviews, shortage resolution, cost changes and audits as required
  • Ensures Component price negotiations and PPV performance meet company expectations.
  • Initiates cost reductions initiatives to support organizational goals.
  • Tracks and monitors supplier non-conformance details to ensure suppliers performance meets requirements.
  • Management of monthly departmental and Supply Chain Program performance metrics
  • Provide technical direction, support and oversight to supply chain and production personnel in the proper set-up, management, and maintenance of ERP functions.
  • Continuously evaluate approved manufacturer list by commodity to optimize the number of suppliers to reduce single source risks while avoiding supplier proliferation.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have a Commodities Sourcing experience with 10+ years’ upward experience.
  • Experienced with High Tech Contract Manufacturing environment.
  • Management record of success in dynamic fast paced operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be capable of effectively establishing professional rapport with internal personnel, suppliers, and customers 
  • Superior Analytical skills and fluency with Excel and EPR systems.
  • History of successful cost reduction and supplier management initiatives.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred.

 

Working Environment

  • Generally, works in an office environment, but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
  • Must be able to communicate face-to-face and on the phone.
