The Coghlin Companies were well represented at this year’s Greater Boston Manufacturing (GBMP) Annual New England Lean Conference held at the DCU center October 4th and 5th. The theme at this year’s conference was “Lean by Doing”, and there was much to do at the conference!
Representatives from a wide variety of manufacturing companies from all over the country were in attendance learning the latest techniques, tools and lean success stories during the 2 day event. Several members of the Columbia Tech and Cogmedix Senior Leadership Teams participated in the lean workshops and keynote speaker events.
The Coghlin Companies also distinguished themselves in being asked to participate in the “Community of Lean Lounge”, providing the Coghlin Companies the opportunity to display and discuss several of the company’s lean initiatives as well as our growth in lean practices over the past several years.
The lounge booth displayed pictures, value stream maps, lean journey boards, and a rolling presentation showing many of the lean activities and Caring Associates at Columbia Tech and Cogmedix. Conference attendees could see lean success “in action” and ask questions about lean journeys from several industries including medical device contract manufacturers, hospitals and even a zoo. Yes, lean works in operating a zoo too! The event was a great success and we look forward to participating again in the future!
