Only at Columbia Tech! Redundant networked, high speed, precision automated PCB assembly lines enabling ultimate flexibility and world class pricing for customers seeking a low to medium volume, high mix, printed circuit board supplier:

Columbia Tech recently installed the new high-speed Mydata MY100-DX14 placement machine, significantly upgrading its previous capabilities and improving overall line speed and accuracy enabling best in class quality and product yields. This machine has two placement heads and will double the thru-put of current lines overnight. This machine was selected after carefully reviewing several competing pick and place brands and was truly in a class of its own. This system is capable of placing 01005 chips, which are the smallest available. In addition, this machine will place large BGA’s and connectors, making it one of the most flexible machines on the market today and making our company, Columbia Tech, the best choice for OEM’s seeking a flexible printed circuit board assembly house with state of the art technology and world class pricing and quality yields.

Several machines were evaluated and the Mydata was chosen for the following reasons.

1. Overall Flexibility
2. Speed of change-over
3. Compatibility with existing feeder inventory
4. Electrical part verification
5. Compatible with existing data and software infrastructure.

Prior to installation, the existing MY15 and server were upgraded to the latest version of software, which guarantees compatibility between lines and allows one shared part database. This will allow any product to be built on either production line mitigating any potential bottleneck or shipping risk to our precious customers.

Both lines are served by MPM / Speedline screen printers and Electrovert RoHS capable reflow ovens. This allows either line to process leaded assemblies and RoHS compliant assemblies. Again, the ultimate in flexibility!
