Another successful toy drive is in the Coghlin Companies history books! This year our generous associates donated 306 toys, 27 books and 34 stocking stuffers to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program. Their mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
With large boxes located throughout our Columbia Tech and Cogmedix facilities, we soon saw board games, dolls, Legos, cars, trucks, crafts, and other fun toys start to trickle in. Though the gifts were accumulating slowly at first, the last few days brought a rush so great that we ended up surpassing last year’s numbers by 274%!!!
The generosity we continually see from our associates is heartwarming. In November we had a food drive immediately followed by the toy drive. In another week we will have our annual coat and clothing drive, and even though it has not yet been announced, we have already received many donations!
