Recently, members of Worcester’s innovation economy gathered for an event centered around shared learning and casting a vision for a bright future at Mechanics Hall.  Hosted by former Lt. Governor and current President of the Worcester Chamber of Commerce, Tim Murray, the annual business conference focuses on economic development and the transformation of Worcester.

This year’s theme was the innovation economy and Worcester as a start-up community.  With keynote addresses from US Congressman Jim McGovern and Consigli Construction CEO Anthony Consigli, attendees were able to see and hear firsthand the past and ongoing efforts to develop the Greater Worcester area into what was recently named one of the top ten emerging start-up hubs in the country by TechNet and the Progressive Policy Institute.

Cogmedix participated in the event in multiple ways. Executive Vice President and General Manager, Matt Giza, sat on a panel discussing disruptive start-ups and innovative approaches, while Vice President of Relationship Development and Program Operations, Tim Briggs, informed event attendees about how Cogmedix innovates in the engineering and manufacturing service sectors for medical devices from our featured table display.

For the panel portion of the event, Matt Giza was in the company of representatives from the Grid District, ZipCar, WooRides, Reliant Medical Group, and OpenCity. Matt discussed how Cogmedix’ market-unique approach providing time-to-market services has disrupted the conventional “contract manufacturing” service model.

At Cogmedix and the Coghlin Companies, gone are the days of receiving a drawing, stamping out products, and moving on to the next customer. Cogmedix has changed the game with our proprietary service models DFcx™ (Design for Compliance and eXcellence) and SPL™ (Scaled Product Launch), emphasizing exceptional customer service and a meticulous commitment to customer requirements and regulatory compliance.

Cogmedix is a proud member of the medtech and innovation industries of Central Massachusetts and continues to grow as a provider of product development, manufacturing and aftermarket services to medical device OEMs from all over the USA and around the world.
