Cogmedix Caring Associates enjoy the festivities kicking off the 15-40 “High Five” Gala event.

This past July over 500 guests attended the 15-40 Connection’s annual Mark & David Ungerer Golf Tournament, “High Five” Gala & Auction. The Gala and Auction were held at St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury MA, and the Golf tournament was split between the Worcester Country Club in Worcester and the Haven Country Club in Boylston.  Numerous caring associates from Columbia Tech and Cogmedix were in attendance.  Coghlin Companies’ Chairman, Jim Coghlin Sr., is also the founder of the 15-40 Connection.  The caring nature of Jim Coghlin Sr. and the 15-40 Connection stays true to the same serving nature of Chris Coghlin and Jim Coghlin Jr., leading Coghlin Companies, which include Columbia Tech and Cogmedix.

The High Five gala event featured musical tribute acts of Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Elvis and Madonna. Guests were served an incredibly delicious multiple course dinner with a live auction to enhance the dining experience.

What is the 15-40 Connection you ask? An excerpt from the 15-40.org website explains, “15-40 Connection is an emerging national organization committed to raising the awareness about the life saving advantage of early cancer detection. We empower individuals to take personal responsibility for their health, check themselves for cancer, and take assertive action in response to persistent health changes. 15-40 year olds are diagnosed with cancer nearly five times more frequently than young children……We strive to improve cancer survival rates for this overlooked population by providing educational resources, tools, and programming.”

Members from the Cogmedix team enjoyed the “High Five” Gala, the auctions and also sported a foursome for the tournament, thanks to a sponsorship from KOKOS Machine Company.  Although our team did not finish near the top, we certainly had a great time participating in a fun event for a great cause. The team started out slow but gained some respect with finishing at 8 under for the day. Although it is always fun to play golf, I felt the brotherhood gained for such an important cause was the real enjoyment. This was my first Tournament, “High Five” Gala & Auction and I was awestruck by this first class event and the magnitude of its impact on the community.
