Bill Laursen, Sarah Fisher and I attended a fund raiser on October 3rd, hosted by Dean Kamen, a renowned inventor, physicist and entrepreneur at his beautiful home called West Wind, in Bedford, NH.  His 5th annual fundraiser benefited the SEE Science Center in Manchester, New Hampshire, a science and discovery center.

Guests included some of the region’s leaders of high-tech companies.  The Coghlin Companies graciously supported the event and I was extremely happy to go and represent Columbia Tech with other caring associates.

Kamen’s home is an “architectural wonder,” something you have to see to believe!  He has 360 degree views from the cupola on top of his house, a heli pad, and so many stairways and little coves inside the house a person could get lost!

Dean Kamen is the founder of DEKA Research and is also the inventor of the Segway, among other incredible game changing technologies.  You can see people riding the Segway’s around the streets of Boston and Disney World and they are only scratching the surface of opportunities for use.

Dean is a down to earth human being.  It was nice to meet him and I am grateful to be associated with a company like ours that has the opportunity to collaborate in meaningful ways with Dean and the DEKA organization to benefit the world with unthinkable innovation.
